Very delicious and good for the price. The Dash special sushi was $18 But the shrimp on the top was a little bit sweet.

My favorite spot in downtown San Mateo for amazing quality fish. Everything is delicious from the tapas, to the nigiri to the sashimi. We always have amazing service from everyone but Erika was specially awesome tonight. Thank you for an amazing dinner!
Dash is no joke! Each plate was out in under 5 minutes after ordering. And each dish was thoughtfully plated, fresh, high-quality, leaving us wanting more. Fish tasted fresh, and all the ones we tried had a different flavor profile. The peach shirome was interesting and refreshing, we were huge fans. We absolutely loved the oysters! To quote my boyfriend, βthis might be one of the best oysters Iβve ever had.β Great blend of flavors with the lemon and roe and sauce. Not pictured are the shishito peppers which were good, but actually pretty spicy which shocked us a bit. We sat at the bar and the sushi chef was very attentive to us. As we were ordering with the waitress, the chef would hear our order and get started immediately. Staff also came around to refill my hot tea at least three times. The space is quite deceiving since it looks small on the outside but there is an entire back area that might be better for larger groups.
I found authentic sushiya in Bay area! I went here for the first time and I enjoyed my dinner. They have great selections day by day with special fishes that Iβve never tried before. Everything were very fresh and price were reasonable. I will definitely come back later to try different seasonal fishes.
We felt so lucky that we were able to catch this place on a busy Sunday afternoon with barely any wait. The food tasted so authentic in a setting to match. The chefs are exposed and you can watch them work their magic. We tried the tapas, the sushi, the specials - nothing disappointed! It came out quick and hot with bold flavors. Just how we like it. Highly recommend checking this place out! Very cozy, intimate vibe with smooth jazz over head. Coming back soon!
Very cute place for sushi in a casual setting. We ordered a bunch of appetizer and they were both aesthetically beautiful and tasty. Highlights were the Dash Taco for visuals and Cartilage Karage for taste. For sushi, we ordered the crunchy roll and the sakura roll. The former was really good but the latter was a bit disappointing. Overall great food, service, and price - would come back again.
Thought the sushi quality was high and the food came out fast. Appreciated the unprompted refills of tea too - at some restaurants it can be hard to get more tea! Particularly enjoyed the daily specials of sushi from Toyosu fish market. I can see why some people found the portions small but it tasted delicious so I would get it again. Croquette and tempura were good. I found the tuna salmon avocado tower awkward to eat and preferred soy sauce and wasabi on it rather than the sweet miso sauce provided, but I guess I like my miso on specific foods. Very generous with the avocado and it was perfectly ripe. Tamogoyaki was well executed - excellent flavor and the chashu had a good texture and was yummy. The egg wasn't as fluffy as I might like but it was delicious and I'd definitely recommend it. Ugh now I'm hungry and want the food. Definitely felt like a izakaya with a sushi focus; felt very authentic!
